One of the most innovative ways of making money from web hosting has a lot to do with selling sites and blogs on Ebay.

If you go to the Ebay websites/businesses for sale section you will notice websites being sold for just a few dollars. It hardly makes sense, does it, for people to just sell websites for a few dollars. But when you realize that the money is being made on the back end of the business and not from the sale of the business you begin to realize that this is in fact a brilliant way to sell hosting services because the sellers then go ahead and charge the buyers to host their site on their hosting service.

So if you have a hosting service and you have been spending a lot of time trying to market it without much success to show for it you may want to change tact. Try and spend all your time building sites for people and selling them for a price they can't refuse and then earning all your money from hosting the site.

And remember that this is residual income, once the site has been built and sold you will not need to put in any more work and yet you will continue to earn every month from the hosting. If you can quickly build 100 websites or so in three months and sell them that would be the equivalent of getting 100 hosting clients in the first three months of your business. 100 new clients in the first three months of a hosting business is something very difficult to achieve and not many people can manage it any other way.
